For Dance Schools - Licensing Details For The Full Program

Movement Mentor® is an adaptive dance program that pairs advanced dance students with children of varying abilities for a one-on-one dance experience.

We provide teacher and mentor training workshops, a syllabus, and materials for dance schools who wish to offer this program.

We encourage schools to offer Movement Mentor classes free of charge.  If this is a financial burden for a presenting school, keeping the cost to the students as low as possible is recommended to maintain the mission of the program.  For non-profit schools, grants and donations can help dissuade costs.  For-profit schools can hold fundraising events to help cover the costs.  The goal is to provide dance to all students of varying abilities at little to no cost to them and their families.

The FULL PROGRAM Licensing
Includes the Following:

  • A Movement Mentor® certified instructor will train prospective dance teachers in four hours of instruction, one hour of class work with the mentors and teachers, and one hour in a trial class with prospective students and mentors or viewing of a recorded class with live commentary from your Movement Mentor instructor.

  • Complete syllabus for the program is provided. All updates will also be communicated.

    A recommended supply list, sample activity boards, and activity signs are also included.

  • Each school presenting the program will be provided with pre and post class surveys to be issued before classes begin and upon conclusion of a session.  These surveys will be used to improve the program and all results will be shared with studio directors.

  • Fee for training session for two teachers- $1500 plus trainers’ travel expenses when applicable. Each additional teacher is $500.

    There is a $25 yearly fee for each certified teacher to maintain certification through completing an online renewal questionnaire.

  • Teachers will be contacted via email to “check in” yearly and complete a short, written evaluation to maintain certification.

    Yearly fee for each certified teacher to maintain certification- $25 paid when taking online certification renewal questionnaire.

  • In order to maintain the licensed program, one virtual or in-person evaluation is required at no extra cost 6 months to a year after commencing.  After the 6 month evaluation, teachers will be contacted via email to “check in” yearly to complete a short, written evaluation.  Any new teachers will need to be certified in the Movement Mentor® Adaptive dance curriculum under the requirements listed below in teacher certification.
