Teacher Training & Certification

Teacher certification in the Movement Mentor® Adaptive Dance curriculum is available for schools with existing adaptive dance programs or for those who wish to start their own program.

Teachers who wish to learn more about teaching students of varying abilities, either for an adaptive dance class or for students in a mainstream class, can also benefit from the teacher training.

TWO TRAINING OPTIONS AVAILABLE

IN PERSON TRAINING

Our in-person training at our headquarters in Orlando, Florida, allows you to learn the Movement Mentor® adaptive dance method through direct, hands-on experience. You’ll participate in a live class, observing and engaging as it naturally unfolds, while our team offers real-time guidance and support. This immersive setting helps you build a deeper understanding and confidence in leading your own classes.

If you want us to come to you, our in person training at your school may involve a live class (dependent on student participants) or our “live” class video. Both options provide “in the moment” training and experience.

VIRTUAL TRAINING

We now offer virtual training!  Learn the Movement Mentor® adaptive dance method from anywhere.  Our course is accompanied with ‘live’ video footage of a Movement Mentor® class.  Certifying teachers will see how a real class unfolds, accompanied by our team's live breakdown of all details.  Contact us to arrange your virtual training session.

What to Expect

  • Each in-person training is thoughtfully designed to guide you step-by-step through the Movement Mentor® method. A certified instructor leads four hours of in person instruction alongside one hour of class work (live or with video), allowing you to actively apply what you’re learning.

    Virtual training also guides you step by step through the curriculum and video of a class with live commentary by a Movement Mentor® instructor.

  • Our team will walk you through live class footage, breaking down what’s happening moment by moment. You’ll gain practical insight into how to lead with clarity, adaptability, and intention.

  • You’ll receive the complete program curriculum, along with any future updates as the method continues to grow.

  • Whether in a live or virtual space, connection matters. You’ll be encouraged to reflect, share insights, and learn alongside others, creating a sense of community and shared growth.

  • Learning doesn’t stop when the training ends. You’ll leave with resources, guidance, and the encouragement to continue practicing, asking questions, and growing into your role as a Movement Mentor® certified teacher.

  • Getting started is simple. Register through the link on this page and you will be contacted with next steps from our Movement Mentor team.

  • $750 per teacher for either the in person training or the virtual training. This fee provides the training, resources upon training, and continual support and updates with maintenance of certification.

    There is a $25 yearly fee for each certified teacher to maintain certification through completing an online renewal questionnaire.

  • Teachers will be contacted via email to “check in” yearly and complete a short, written evaluation to maintain certification.
